Is there a self hosted not ring video doorbell option?
Most self-hosted doorbell stuff I saw was adding relays to the actual chime, then firing off an alert when it occurs.
Its not great, but it's kind of workable.
The least cloudy one I've been able to find is: https://www.eufylife.com/products/variant/video-doorbell/T82001J1
@GigaByte4711 that’s along the lines of what I’m looking for although their talk about AI makes me think machine learning which makes me think that it isn’t really local only. I’ll have to read more about it...
Some people have put raspi zero w's in thin cases with pushbuttons wired in. That's a truly self-hosted way.
Its a bit more involved though, and probably not as nice-looking.
